Being a facilitator is like being a midwife--you assist another.  In our case, this is a midwife in a learning situation, a dynamic that takes some energy.  You don't do all the work but help others to be interactive and share information.  The facilitator role is to assist the group's members during their time together remembering that we are all on this faith journey.

In our situations at All Saints, the small community gatherings are opportunities for adults to learn more in a particular area, be with other Christians, and share faith experiences.  The facilitator is not a lecturer but an artful guide to helping each one to be involved and participate.

A facilitator wants to have some skills to start and the desire to hone them.  Skills include:

  • Following good meeting practices
  • Maintaining the role
  • Assisting with group dynamics

Contact Father Bob Suit or Diane Valentine for additional information.

Reserving a Space and Bulletin Request

All rooms are reserved through the Parish Office and a Facilitator is responsible for securing the space with dates and times.  No study or group gathering is confirmed or can be advertised in the parish without a reservationon on the Parish Calendar.

The Parish Secretaries are responsible for coordinating space reservations.  They are available between 9 and 4 Monday through Friday to help you meet your accommodations needs.  Putting your request in writing is preferred.  Please use the All Saints Parish Calendar Reservation Request Form.  You may call to check for availability prior to completing the form.  After your event is confirmed on the calendar, please email (asparish@allsaints-stpeters.org) or return the Bulletin Request Form to the Parish office by 10:00 a.m. on the Monday before you want your article to run in the bulletin.

There have several meeting locations:  Parish Office, Music Room (Parish Center), Art Room (school) and the Annex.  These are described on the Meeting Rooms Information.

NOTE:  The Parish Calendar for the fall and most of the year for events and activities is set during July.  The Parish Secretaries go through all the requests to coordinate the schedule.  If you want a study or group to meet in the fall, the request needs to be turned in prior to July.
