VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BELIZE MISSION JANUARY 7-16, 2023

If you’ve been waiting for an invitation to step out of your comfort zone and make a difference in the world, here it is! Consider traveling to Belize with our Barefoot Children Ministries mission team, a ministry born right here at All Saints. We need construction volunteers to repair community facilities and assist with water projects. We are also seeking people to teach hands-on lessons in a variety of subjects in village elementary schools and work with small groups of children who fell behind while distance-learning during the pandemic. Volunteers will also distribute personal hygiene items and school supplies. Others may choose to assist with projects including women’s health discussions, elderly enrichment programs, and the delivery of fruit tree seedlings. Look for the simple brown mission solidarity rings worn by fellow parishioners and ask them to tell you about this amazing, life-changing experience! For additional information contact Ann Lacker at 636-734-7005 or ann@barefootchildrenministries.org

Belize is in Central America, south of Mexico and east of Guatemala. It is a small country with a
population of 412,000. Toledo, the most southern district in Belize, is often referred to as the
“Forgotten District” due in part to limited road access. About 80% of the people are extremely
poor and live in highly disadvantaged conditions.

Mission Team Projects:
1) Construction: We are seeking volunteers to help the local people repair community facilities and
plan/maintain water projects.
2) Education: We are seeking caring people to teach hands-on lessons in a variety of subjects in
village elementary schools and work with small groups of children who fell behind while distance-
learning during the pandemic. Volunteers will also distribute personal hygiene items and school
supplies.
3) Additional Projects: Volunteers may choose to assist with other projects including women’s health
discussions, elderly enrichment programs, and the delivery of fruit tree seedlings.
