Shopping as Jesus Would

The new school year is just around the corner- less than a month away.  Many children are looking forward to returning to their classrooms and their friends.  Whether our children are able to attend  school or choose to participate in distance learning this year, they will all need school supplies.  For some families who have experienced a loss in employment, this will present a real difficulty.  In response to this need, our St. Vincent de Paul Society will be collecting school supplies this weekend and next in order to supply the children in our community with the things they need.

Because we are still practicing personal safety, we will not be passing out bags with lists of the supplies needed.  Please just shop as Jesus would, and pick up whatever items you think the children might need.  Some suggestions are listed below:

Some more expensive items:

  • Backpacks
  • Regular and scientific calculators
  • Earbuds

Also needed are:

  • Crayons - 24 pack
  • Washable markers - both fine and wide points
  • Dry erase markers
  • Highlighters
  • Colored pencils
  • Fiskars scissors
  • Notebook paper - both wide and narrow ruled
  • Composition notebooks
  • 3-ring binders - 1 and 2 inch sizes
  • Prong and pocket folders
  • Paper towels
  • Facial tissues
  • Clorox wipes
  • Hand sanitizer

Please place donated items in the containers at the entrances of the Church & Gym. If you choose to make a monetary donation, please indicate "SVDP School Supply Program"  on the memo line of your check or envelope.

As always, thank you for your generosity in Shopping as Jesus Would.
